A woman acting as a key associate for a large-scale drug distributor known as "Srinath" was taken into custody with a stock of Kerala cannabis, according to the Police Special Task Force (STF). A team from the Special Operations Unit (I) of the STF Headquarters raided a house located on Clovis Avenue, Moratuwallais, Moratuwa to execute the arrest.
During the raid, officers recovered 1 kilogram and 150 grams of Kerala cannabis valued at several hundred thousand rupees from the 47-year-old resident of Moratuwa. Preliminary investigations revealed that she managed the drug network for Srinath, an alleged notorious trafficker in the Moratuwella area, and handled the distribution of cannabis throughout the region. The STF handed over the suspect and the seized narcotics to the Moratuwa Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
