A person died after a wild elephant attacked him in the Vattamadu area within the Tirukkovil police division last night (23rd), the Tirukkovil police say.
The individual who died from the wild elephant attack was a 63-year-old resident of the Navakkadu area.
Initial investigations conducted by the police revealed that the deceased came under attack by the wild elephant while cutting grass for his cattle in the area.
The body of the deceased remains deposited in the mortuary of the Tirukkovil Hospital, police state.
Officers of the Tirukkovil Police Station conduct further investigations into the incident.
