The Department of Meteorology says wind speeds may intensify in offshore sea areas stretching from Kankesanthurai to Chilaw via Mannar, and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
According to the department, wind speeds in these areas could increase to between 60 and 65 km/h.
The department further advised those engaged in fishing and naval activities in these sea areas to remain vigilant and exercise caution.
