Over 20 Vesak pandals in Colombo; more than 15,000 dansal across the country
Buddhist devotees are making extensive preparations with great devotion to celebrate the sacred Vesak festival.
These preparations include the organization of Vesak lanterns, pandals, and dansal as offerings of devotion.
In Colombo city alone, nearly 20 Vesak pandals are being displayed.
Meanwhile, more than 15,000 dansal are being organised islandwide, according to the Public Health Inspectors’ Association.
A special traffic plan is in effect in Colombo from today in connection with the Vesak festival.
The Police Media Spokesperson’s Office stated that the traffic plan will be implemented on roads around Vesak zones, pandals, and lantern display sites.
Accordingly, special traffic arrangements are in place in all these areas.
