Pakistani warships, submarine arrive in Colombo

Two Pakistan Navy warships, PNS Taimur and PNS Aslat, along with the submarine PNS/M Hangor, arrived at the Port of Colombo yesterday (01) on a goodwill visit and to replenish supplies and services, the Sri Lanka Navy said.

The vessels and submarine received a traditional naval welcome from the Sri Lanka Navy upon arrival.

According to the Navy, Captain Niamat Saeed Khan commands PNS Taimur, Captain Nadir Mateen Afridi commands PNS Aslat, and Captain Uzair Farooq commands PNS/M Hangor.

During the visit, crew members are scheduled to tour several parts of the island and visit key locations.

Before departing, the vessels and submarine are also expected to participate in a Passing Exercise (PASSEX) with Sri Lanka Navy ships in waters under the Western Naval Command, aimed at strengthening bilateral naval cooperation.
