Sacred Kapilawasthu relics return to Waskaduwa today following Hiru exposition

The sacred Kapilavastu relics of the Lord Buddha, which brought solace to hundreds of thousands of devotees for two full days at the historic Mahiyanganaya Temple, are being returned to the Waskaduwa Sri Subhuthi Temple.

The authentic Kapilavastu sacred relics arrived at the Pallebedda Sankhapala Rajamaha Temple last night, and devotees have the opportunity to venerate the relics at the temple from last night until this morning (3).

Hiru Uththama Dhatu Wandana, held concurrently with the Hiru Shakyasingha Mangalyaya, initiated based on a concept of the Chairman of Hiru Media Network, Rayynor Silva, commenced at the historic Mahiyangana Rajamaha Temple sacred grounds on the 31st.

The authentic Kapilavastu sacred relics, as well as the sacred bowl relic of the Lord Buddha, placed at the historic Mahiyanganaya sacred premises for two days, were venerated by hundreds of thousands of devotees.

The Hiru Uththama Dhatu Wandana, which brought a spiritual merit akin to seeing the living Buddha to the devotees, concluded at the Mahiyangana sacred premises yesterday morning.

The casket containing the authentic Kapilavastu sacred relics was placed in a special chamber prepared to return them to the Waskaduwa Sri Subhuthi Temple amidst the chants of the devotees present.

Accordingly, thousands of people waiting along the roadsides also received the opportunity to worship the noble, authentic Kapilavastu sacred relics.

Subsequently, the procession carrying the authentic Kapilavastu sacred relics passed Bibile, Medagama, and Nakkala towns, and arrived at the historic Yudaganawa Rajamaha Temple for the midday Sambuddha pooja.

The sacred relics then arrived at the Pallebedda Sankhapala Temple last night.

The sacred relics are scheduled to be placed in the middle of Ratnapura town this afternoon for the veneration of thousands of devotees, and following the subsequent gilanpasa pooja, the sacred relics will return to the Waskaduwa Sri Subhuthi Temple.
