The Kap planting ceremony of the historic Seenigama Devalaya will be held on the upcoming Poson Poya day.
The ritual is scheduled to take place at 8.00 a.m. at an auspicious time.
This year marks the 59th annual procession of the Devalaya.
Following the Kap planting ceremony, the Esala procession will be held on August 8, 9, 10, and 11, according to organisers.
