Police Headquarters says that five suspects, including the main suspect, have been arrested by the Omanthai Police in connection with the murder of a man in the Navatkulum area under the Omanthai Police Division.
The arrested individuals include two women allegedly accused of aiding and abetting the crime, in addition to three male suspects.
Police stated that the murder took place on the night of June 6, following which the Omanthai Police launched a comprehensive investigation.
Acting on intelligence, officers carried out a special operation on June 7, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
The three male suspects are aged 17 and 27, while the two female suspects are aged 20 and 23.
Police further confirmed that all the suspects are residents of the Navatkulum and Omanthai areas.
Further investigations are currently underway.
