SriLankan Airlines said Flight UL606, which departed Colombo for Sydney at 12:05 a.m. today (12), returned to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) following an operational occurrence encountered during adverse weather conditions.
The aircraft, carrying 207 passengers and 16 crew members, landed safely at BIA.
The flight later resumed its journey to Sydney on a replacement aircraft, departing Colombo at 5:51 a.m.
SriLankan Airlines said the safety and wellbeing of its passengers and crew remain its highest priority and that all necessary measures would continue to be taken to ensure the highest standards of safety across its operations.
