MP Chandana Sooriyaarachchi defends school event attendance

The culture of exploiting schools and children to promote politics is what his party rejected.

Member of Parliament Chandana Sooriyaarachchi stated this when a journalist questioned him at the end of an event regarding the suspension of school educational activities for over three hours to hold the function.

The MP mentioned that leading regional development initiatives remains the responsibility of the political authority, and he merely fulfilled that duty.

Chandana Sooriyaarachchi emphasised that despite halting educational activities for the event, his speeches provided children with new knowledge and attitudes, describing it as the new political culture.
