A foreign national attempting to smuggle a stock of hashish valued at over Rs. 377 million into the country was arrested by customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake.
The arrested individual is a 23-year-old Dominican national.
The total weight of the hashish stock discovered in the suspect's possession during a search conducted by customs officers is around 37 kilograms, according to reports.
Customs stated that the total value of the narcotics stock is approximately Rs. 377 million.
