Wind speeds can increase up to 50 to 60 kilometres per hour at times in the sea areas extending from Kalpitiya to Kankesanthurai via Mannar, and from Hambantota to Pottuvil, according to a warning notice issued by the Department of Meteorology.
Fishing and naval communities are advised to remain vigilant regarding this situation.
