Container truck overturns at Orugodawatta

Two lanes of the road connecting Dematagoda and Peliyagoda face severe disruption after a container truck overturned at the Orugodawatta Junction within the Grandpass police division.

Officers state the vehicle, travelling from Avissawella towards Peliyagoda, toppled whilst executing a right turn.

To mitigate the resulting traffic congestion, police diverted vehicles from both directions onto the remaining single lane normally reserved for traffic heading from Peliyagoda towards Dematagoda.

Authorities continue operations to clear the obstruction and restore normal traffic flow.
