Strong wind warning issued for Sri Lankan seas

The Department of Meteorology issued a warning regarding strong winds. Accordingly, wind speeds in the sea areas off the coast extending from Matara via Hambantota to Potuvil, and from Chilaw via Puttalam to Kankesanthurai can increase up to 50 to 60 kilometres per hour at times.

The department requests the fishing and naval communities to act with caution regarding this and to remain attentive to future notices issued by the Department of Meteorology.
