The Court of Appeal ordered the calling of the writ application filed by former Director of the State Intelligence Service Major General Suresh Sallay, challenging his arrest and detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act in relation to investigations into the Easter Sunday terrorist attack, again tomorrow (28).
That was after the petition was considered before the Court of Appeal today (27).
There, Deputy Solicitor General Suharshi Herath, who appeared on behalf of the respondents, including Director of the Criminal Investigation Department Shani Abeysekara, named as respondents in the relevant petition, made lengthy submissions before the court.
The petition was ordered to be called tomorrow thereafter.
