A special traffic plan is implemented today and tomorrow for the Devinuwara Esala procession, police stated.
The traffic plan operates until 9 p.m. today.
To minimise traffic congestion during this period, vehicles travelling from Matara towards Tangalle can divert near the Maddawatta Technical College onto the Matara Yatiyana Road, proceed to the Kekanadura Junction, and travel via the Wehella Road to Dikwella.
Vehicles travelling from Tangalle towards Matara can divert near the Talalla Technical College, proceed along the Naotunna Road to the Viyannaruwa Junction, travel via the Dikwella-Wehella Road to the Kekanadura Junction, and proceed to Matara, police added.
