President acted to provide relief to people by opening the doors of the filled treasury, Minister Samantha Vidyaratne stated.
Speaking further in parliament today (04), the Minister stated:
"The Opposition whimpers that the treasury was filled. The President opened the door of a filled treasury and gave 500 billion for the Ditwah disaster through a supplementary estimate. Next, 100 billion was allocated to provide relief to people due to the Middle East war situation.
Unlike before, we did not tell people to tighten their belts. Relief is being provided to people."
