SriLankan Airlines steps up India promotion ahead of cricket series

SriLankan Airlines, in its latest promotional drive in Mumbai aims to encourage Indian cricket fans to visit Sri Lanka during the upcoming two-test series between the two nations.

The campaign targets cricket enthusiasts by promoting Sri Lanka as a destination combining live test cricket with a holiday experience.

The airline installed outdoor LED hoardings at prominent Mumbai locations, including Kings Circle, BKC T Junction, Chembur, and SCLR, positioned to capture commuter attention during peak morning and evening traffic hours.

The India tour of Sri Lanka commences with a three-day warm-up match at the Colombo NCC Grounds from August 7 to 9.

The opening test takes place at the Galle International Cricket Stadium from August 15 to 19, followed by the second test at the Colombo SSC Grounds from August 23 to 27.

Mumbai remains a vital source market for tourism, and given the shared passion for cricket, the carrier anticipates robust travel interest throughout the series.

The promotion also highlights beaches, heritage sites, and cultural attractions, inviting travellers to pair the cricket tour with a comprehensive vacation.

Officials stated that this initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to expand market presence in India and establish Sri Lanka as a premier destination for leisure and sports tourism.
