A total of 1,693 individuals lost their lives in 1,605 road incidents reported so far this year, the police said.
During a press conference held in Colombo today (13), Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Traffic Control and Road Safety W.P.J. Senadheera stated that a slight decrease in road mishaps is reported when compared to this period last year.
He mentioned that road incidents involving motorcycles have increased.
