An individual who conducted a press conference through a video on social media and presented unverified false facts was taken into custody yesterday by the Counter Terrorism Investigation Division.
The Police Media Division stated that this suspect was arrested in connection with broadcasting unverified false information through a social media video and press conference alleging that an LTTE training camp is being operated in the Pallai reserve within the Akkarayankulam police division.
He is a 46-year-old resident of the Bellanwila, Boralasgamuwa area.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court today (19).
