Sri Lanka experienced an increase in inflation during July, according to data on the consumer price index and monthly consumer inflation released by the Department of Census and Statistics.
Overall inflation rose from 6.5% in June to 7.2% in July. Food category inflation increased notably from 3.3% in June to 4.9% in July, while non-food category inflation dropped slightly from 9.3% in June to 9.2% in July.
