Sri Lanka slipped to sixth place in the latest International Cricket Council World Test Championship standings following a crushing defeat against the West Indies.
The West Indies dominated proceedings at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, securing a comprehensive innings-and-217-run victory in the first match of the two-test series in Antigua.
After restricting the visitors to 308 in their first innings, the hosts responded with a massive 629 for nine before dismissing Sri Lanka for a paltry 101 in their second attempt.
This heavy defeat sees Sri Lanka drop from fourth to sixth, now holding 44.44 percentage points. The result allowed Bangladesh and India to climb into fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Australia currently leads the table, followed by South Africa and New Zealand.
