Murder doubts spark over Thera’s death

Suspicion has arisen if the death of a monk whose remains were found at a temple in Akuressa yesterday, was a murder.

Several blood stains were seen at the site where the body was discovered.

The victim monk has been identified as the incumbent of Ilukwatta Sri Dhamarama Temple at Maramba, Venerable Pallekumbure Dharmakeerthu Seelawimana Thera.  

Our correspondent stated that the deceased monk had lived alone at the temple.
