All five spill gates of Udawalawa reservoir have been opened due to the prevailing rainy weather.
According to the Disaster Management Centre, the spill gates have been opened by 1.5 feet each.
In addition, it has been decided to open two spill gates of the Weheragala reservoir by six inches this evening, after the water in the reservoir reached spill level.
Due to this reason, the Disaster Management Centre requests the public to be cautious when bathing in Menik River.
