Welisara accident: Two arrested over fatal accident (Video)

A 16-year-old boy and his father have been arrested in connection with a road accident in Welisara, Mahabage this morning, killing one person and injuring four others.

The luxury car driven by the boy veered off the road and collided with a car coming from the other lane, involving a three-wheeler and two motorcycles.

The deceased was a 52-year-old resident of Mahabage who was traveling on a motorcycle.

The owner of the jeep involved in the accident, a jewelry businessman in the Mahabage area in Welisara, has washed and cleaned his jeep to go to Colombo this morning.

It is reported that the businessman's son and his elder sister had taken the jeep out of the house while he was getting ready to head out.

The jeep was traveling towards Negombo at a high speed when it overtook a speed limit and collided with a convoy of vehicles coming from the opposite direction.

An eyewitness stated that the jeep lost control, crossed the barrier in the middle of the road, and toppled over to the other side of the road onto another car.
