The Department of Immigration and Emigration stated that it is not necessary to come to Colombo as the issuance of passports under the one-day service to the people of Matara, Vavuniya and Kandy districts will be done at the regional offices from today.
The department stated that under its first phase, one day service facilities will be provided for 100 applicants who have reserved a day and time in advance for each regional office.
It is possible to reserve time to submit applications to the relevant regional offices by visiting the website www.immigration.gov.lk
The Immigration Department stated that arrangements have been made to start issuing passports under the same one-day service facility to Kurunegala district from the 11th.
