The Fox Hill Super Cross 2024 accident death toll has risen to 7. The rest of the races at the event have been cancelled.
According to the police, the tragic incident resulted in the loss of five adult males and a young child. Among the deceased were four officials of the racing event, while the other two were civilian spectators. The child, tragically, was an 08-year-old girl, as confirmed by the Sri Lanka Army Spokesperson.
DIG Thalduwa provided further details, stating that the accident occurred when a car veered off the track during a race. Additionally, reports indicate that four out of the 24 individuals injured and hospitalized are in critical condition.
As a result of the incident, the "Fox Hill Super Cross 2024" racing event has been temporarily suspended by the authorities. The Diyatalawa Police are currently conducting thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Five individuals were reported to have tragically lost their lives following an accident that took place during the Fox Hill Super Cross 2024 event in Diyathalawa. (The death count has risen to six)
Additionally, 21 individuals have been hospitalized, according to the Police Media Spokesperson.
The 28th edition of the ‘Fox Hill Super Cross’ organized by the Sri Lanka Military Academy Diyatalawa with the support of Sri Lanka Automobile Sports (SLAS) kicked off at Diyatalawa on Sunday (21).
The mishap took place while event no 17 of the day SLH Cars upto 2000cc One Make (Subaru Legacy) was being run and a car crashed in to the earth ramp injuring dozens of bystanders. There were more than 100,000 spectators for the event according to reports.
The “Fox Hill Supercross” derives its name from the fact that the track is situated in the Fox Hill area. In fact, the Fox Hill Supercross track built and maintained by the Sri Lanka Military Academy stands adjacent to Fox Hill.
