Ajith Mannapperuma withdraws from election, resigns from SJB (Video)

Former MP Ajith Mannapperuma, who had submitted his nomination to contest the general election from the Gampaha District under the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), announced his withdrawal from the race and his resignation from the party today (12). During a press conference, Mannapperuma stated that his decision came after being removed from the position of SJB chief organiser for the Gampaha electorate.

Despite submitting his nomination, Mannapperuma expressed that he had no intention of seeking votes and urged people not to vote for him. He voiced his disappointment with SJB leader Sajith Premadasa, claiming that his position was given to someone who had supported Ranil Wickramasinghe and the United National Party.
