Traffic has been restricted to one lane on the Hatton-Maskeliya main road due to a landslide that occurred this afternoon (27).
A Hiru correspondent reported that the landslide was caused by the ongoing heavy rains in the area.
Traffic will remain restricted until the debris from the landslide is cleared.
The Nuwara Eliya Disaster Management Unit is urging drivers to exercise caution when using these roads, as there is an increased risk of further landslides during the current rainy conditions.
