The government has announced a list of state institutions to be liquidated under the first phase of its restructuring program.
The list was revealed by Cabinet Spokesperson and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa during a recent cabinet press briefing.
The institutions proposed for liquidation are:
· Asian Games (Pvt) Ltd
· Thurusaviya Fund
· Selin Diwa Investments (Pvt) Ltd
· Lanka Logistics (Pvt) Ltd
· Commonwealth Games Hambantota (Pvt) Ltd
· Magampura Port Management Company
· Mihin Lanka Limited
· Media Training Institute
· Expressway Transport Company (Pvt) Ltd
The minister added that several other institutions will also be liquidated under this initial phase.
The process will be overseen by a special liquidation unit established under the Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, based on a proposal submitted by the President, who holds the ministerial portfolio.
