Police say some of the ammunition found buried on a property in Middeniya is marked with the letters "KPI".
The weapons cache is linked to Sampath Manamperi, a suspect in the case involving two containers of chemicals believed to be used for 'ICE' production.
The police revealed that a search of the land, based on information from the suspect, uncovered a gold-coloured T-56 magazine, 115 T-56 bullets, a hand grenade, and a broken 9mm pistol.
Investigations suggest that the suspect had buried the items on the property of his mistress on September 3.
