The Colombo High Court ordered that the case filed by the Attorney General against a group of Army intelligence personnel concerning the abduction and disappearance of journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda be recalled on December 5.
The case was called today (30) before Justice Sujeeva Nissanka, a member of the three-judge High Court bench.
The Justice stated that judges for the remaining vacant positions on the three-judge High Court panel presiding over this case are yet to be nominated.
Expressing hope that judges will be appointed to those positions soon, the Justice announced the postponement of the case until December 5.
Nine Army intelligence personnel, including former Commanding Officer of the Giritale Army Camp, Shammi Kumararatne, are named as the defendants in the case.
The Attorney General has filed charges against the defendants under the Penal Code, alleging that on or about January 25, 2010, the defendants, along with an unnamed group, abducted journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda with the intention of secretly confining him and causing his death.
