IGP launch special operations unit for disaster information

In response to the sudden and severe weather conditions affecting the island, marked by heavy rainfall, flooding, strong winds, and landslides in several regions, an IGP Special Operations Unit was established at Police Headquarters under the direct supervision of the Inspector General of Police. Evacuation notices have already been issued to residents in multiple high-risk areas.

This Special Operations Unit has been set up to strengthen coordination during the ongoing emergency and to ensure the timely delivery of essential assistance. Members of the public are requested to use the designated landline and WhatsApp numbers for any emergency support.
