Prison officials produced former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake before the Fort Magistrate’s Court at approximately 1:30 PM today.
The production relates to a case where he is accused of aiding and abetting the misappropriation of state funds. The charges involve an alleged loss to the government exceeding Rs. 15 million, incurred during a private visit to London by former President Ranil Wickremesinghe to attend the graduation ceremony of his wife, Professor Maithree Wickramasinghe.
