A man repairing a security fence at a house in the Mavilmada area of Katugastota died yesterday (05) after losing control of a grinder machine.
Police Headquarters stated that the victim suffered a fatal neck injury when the power tool he was using became unmanageable and struck him during the construction work.
Preliminary investigations identified the deceased as a 66-year-old resident of the same area.
Police noted that he died at the scene due to severe bleeding immediately after the incident occurred.
Following a complaint lodged with the Katugastota Police, officers initiated an inquiry, and the body will return to the family after the post-mortem examination.
Katugastota Police continue further investigations into the matter.
