The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has informed the Fort Magistrate’s Court through a motion that former State Intelligence Service Chief, retired Major General Suresh Sallay, has been hospitalised.
Court correspondent reports said the motion was filed before Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasekara.
Sallay, who was arrested on suspicion in connection with the Easter Sunday terror attacks, had been held in the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department pending investigations.
However, he was admitted to the Emergency Treatment Unit of the Colombo National Hospital last night for urgent medical treatment.
Hospital sources said he is currently receiving treatment in Ward No. 42.
