Four members of the same family were injured and admitted to the Nawalapitiya District General Hospital after a large tree fell on their house in the Imbulpitiya Uda area of Nawalapitiya around 1 a.m. today (12), police said.
The incident occurred due to strong winds that swept through the Nawalapitiya area. After the tree collapsed onto the house, neighbours rescued the trapped victims and rushed them to hospital.
Police said all four injured persons belong to the same family.
The house also suffered severe damage due to the fallen tree, according to reports.
