A meeting was held between Indigenous leader Uruwarige Wannila Aththo and Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya.
The discussion took place yesterday at the Parliamentary complex, where issues faced by the Indigenous community were discussed, with particular attention given to difficulties related to the use of their ancestral lands.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister stated that Indigenous people have the right to enjoy their traditional lands without obstruction and assured that the necessary legal procedures to support this will be expedited.
