A 72-hour detention order was obtained for Chathura Dilrukshan, the brother of alleged organised criminal and drug trafficker Modara Nipuna, following his repatriation from Dubai.
Police stated that a detention order is also expected to be obtained tomorrow for Bloemendhal Sankha, who was brought back to the country alongside the suspect.
The two suspects were repatriated from the United Arab Emirates last night.
Bloemendhal Sankha was subsequently held in the custody of airport security officials for 14 hours before being handed over to the Colombo North Crimes Investigation Division this morning.
