Baseless attacks on state officials politically motivated, says Deputy Minister

The current Inspector General of Police, Ravi Seneviratne, Shani Abeysekera, and Dileepa Peiris perform their duties accurately, Deputy Minister Sunil Watagala states.

Therefore, the opposition makes baseless allegations, the Deputy Minister mentioned.

Expressing further views on this, Deputy Minister Sunil Watagala said:

"Baseless allegations are made against the current IGP.. Why? Because he does the job of IGP well. That is the criticism enemies have.

Allegations are levelled against Shani Abeysekera. Why? Because he does the job in the Criminal Investigation Department well. Allegations are levelled against Ravi Seneviratne. Why? Because he does the job in the Ministry well.

Dileepa Peiris is attacked repeatedly. Why? Because he aligns the Attorney General's Department with the aspirations of the people.

So the people who hate this administration, the opposition, make baseless allegations today. We do not listen to any of that. None of that can stop our journey either."
