Zelensky touts 'firm support' from US after closed-door meeting with Trump

The first lines from Zelensky's closed-door meeting with Trump are beginning to emerge, coming from a Telegram post by the Ukranian leader.

He said he had a good meeting with Trump and that the two discussed the importance of protecting Ukrainians and how the US can help the Ukraine with missile-defence systems.

"The President and I discussed licenses for Patriot interceptor production and several other ideas that could help," he said.

Zelensky said there would be further communication and expressed his gratitude for "firm support" from the US.
