The Department of Meteorology forecasted showers at times in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Several spells of showers may also occur in the Western and North-Western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva Province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m., while fairly strong winds of about (30-40) kmph can be expected at times over the Northern, North-Central, North-Western and Southern provinces and in the Trincomalee district.
The department requests the public to take adequate precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
