Long queues reported at Makumbura Multimodal Centre

Severe congestion has been reported inside the Kottawa-Makumbura Multimodal Transport Centre following a sharp increase in the number of passengers arriving to travel to major Southern Province towns, including Galle and Matara, via the Southern Expressway.

The Hiru correspondent stated that queues of passengers waiting to board highway buses bound for Galle and Matara have extended outside the bus station terminal premises to a distance of over a kilometre.
