This group was sent to Russia after obtaining between Rs 1.8 and 2.1 million per person, claiming to provide jobs in a chocolate factory.

However, due to the lack of employment, they are currently forced to stay on a farm, spending an extremely difficult time even without money.

Those stranded in Russia in this manner are residents of Matara, Kamburupitiya, Kandy, Wattegama, Dambulla, Mawanella, Kekirawa, and Weligama.

However, they contacted the individual named Keerthi Wickramasinghe via telephone, who is considered to be the person who directed them to the job in Russia.

The group requests the government to pay immediate attention to this matter and intervene to bring them back or provide them with legal visas and employment.
