Increase in rainfall expected from tomorrow

An increase in rainy conditions in the south-western parts of the island is expected from tomorrow (19), according to the Department of Meteorology.

The department stated that showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Fairly heavy falls of about 75 millimetres are also likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa province and in the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Additionally, the Department of Meteorology noted that showers or thundershowers may occur after 2.00 p.m. tomorrow in the Uva province, which had previously experienced dry weather, as well as in the Mullaittivu, Batticaloa, and Ampara districts.
