Colombo's Mahanama College won the championship of the Under-19 Tier 'A' Inter-School One Day Cricket Tournament, organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association under the patronage of Sri Lanka Cricket, finishing the competition undefeated.
Led by Dulnith Sigeera, Mahanama College emerged champions, maintaining an undefeated record among 18 school teams in the final match held at the Maggona Surrey Cricket Grounds.
In the final, Galle's Richmond College won the toss and elected to bat first, but Mahanama bowlers restricted the Richmond innings to just 109 runs in 40.3 overs.
Risinu Ginuka was the only successful batsman for Richmond College, scoring 41 runs off 77 balls, including 5 fours.
In their chase, Colombo Mahanama College reached 110 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 19.5 overs, securing a 4-wicket victory.
Mahanama captain Dulnith Sigeera delivered an all-round performance in the winning effort.
