Sri Lanka names Test squad against India

A 16-member squad was named by the Sri Lanka Cricket selection committee for the upcoming first Test match against India.

Dhananjaya de Silva selected as the captain of the team, while Kamindu Mendis is named as the vice-captain.

The squad includes Lahiru Udara, Nishan Madushka, Dinesh Chandimal, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Sonal Dinusha, Niroshan Dickwella, Ramesh Mendis, Prabath Jayasuriya, Keshara Nuwantha, Milan Rathnayake, Asitha Fernando, Lahiru Kumara, Vishwa Fernando, and Dilshan Madushanka.

The first Test match between the two countries is scheduled to take place from August 15 to 19 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

This match marks the opening game of the two-match Test series between Sri Lanka and India, which forms a part of the 2025–2027 ICC World Test Championship.
