Central Bank Governor Dr.Nandalal Weerasinghe achieves 'A Grade' in Global Finance Awards

The Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, has received the prestigious 'A Grade' in the Global Finance magazine's 2025 World's Best Central Bank Governors awards.

The accolade was announced during the IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings currently taking place in Washington.

This top-tier rating acknowledges Dr. Weerasinghe’s effective leadership, particularly his prudent monetary policy decisions which have been instrumental in stabilising Sri Lanka's financial system.

His strategic approach to managing the economy amidst demanding international circumstances was also highlighted.

Global Finance assesses central bank heads each year on several key performance indicators.

These include the credibility of their policies, their success in controlling inflation, maintaining currency stability, and promoting positive economic growth outcomes.
