Sri Lanka Tourism confirms infrastructure largely restored and major tourist zones are ready for visitors.

Sri Lanka Tourism has announced that the country is returning to normalcy following the passage of Cyclone Ditwah, confirming that several key tourist attractions are now reopened.

In a statement, the authority reported that utilities, transport networks, and essential services have been largely restored across the nation.

This paves the way for the reopening of tourism attractions, accommodation, and supporting infrastructure, affirming Sri Lanka's readiness to welcome international visitors.

A variety of sites, including wildlife areas, national parks, marine tourism locations, forest sites, and cultural sites, have resumed operations.

Furthermore, major tourism zones across the country are reportedly experiencing favourable weather conditions suchh as Negombo, Kalutara, Passikudah, Hikkaduwa, Bentota/Beruwala, Ella and Arugam Bay.

The statement also confirmed that critical road networks connecting major cities and tourism zones are accessible, including key highways.

Specifically, the popular destination of Ella is now accessible via the Wellawaya route.
