Former Minister and United National Party (UNP) Deputy General Secretary Harin Fernando announced that the party has decided to lodge formal complaints with several international organisations, including the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), regarding the alleged political victimisation of UNP Leader and former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

According to Fernando, the party intends to submit these complaints to the United Nations and the European Parliament, among other global institutions. During a press conference, he warned that any move by the government against Wickremesinghe would result in a "great curse" for the administration.

Following the press conference, a notable incident occurred while Harin Fernando was exercising at a gym.

He reportedly received a phone call from an unknown number, during which the caller questioned the party's decision to internationalise the issue and issued threatening remarks.

The former Minister responded with a strong verbal retort, leading the caller to disconnect the line.

Upon later checking the number via the Truecaller app, Fernando discovered that the call was allegedly linked to a "prince" from the family of a Ugandan princess.

Fernando has since briefed Ranil Wickremesinghe on the details of this mysterious and threatening communication.
